Sun Signs of the Zodiac
There are twelve signs of the zodiac. The day of the month a person is born determines his or her Sun Sign (Birth Sign). For someone born on the cusp of a sign, the birth time is needed to determine which sign is actually their Sun Sign.
*Sun in Aries (March 21st—April 19th)
Aries is the first sign of the zodiac. You are an assertive and freedom-loving individual. You have a strong need for independence, and may tend to display self-concern assertively. You are direct and aggressive in expressing yourself. You like to start new activities, which will keep you occupied until the novelty wears off. You have a great psychological drive to prove yourself through actions. You are not merely satisfied to intellectualize about your concerns, but are impatient to do something about them. You must learn to think before taking action. Your impulsiveness and inability to listen to the advice of others tend to involve you in difficulties. You are likely to be impatient and not likely to finish what you start. You are highly competitive and want to be first and best in everything you do. You are not likely to admit defeat and will always seek new ways of expression. You must learn the lesson of love, so that you can relate to others and reach out to them with consideration. *Sun in Taurus (April 20th—May 20th)
Taurus is the second sign of the zodiac. You are a reliable and solid individual. You have a strong need for stable routine and security. You can be stubborn. You were born to achieve mastery over physical matter. You strive for spiritual truth by working with the practical aspects of life. You are fond of the good things of life and often focus your attention on getting material things. You have a love of comfort, satisfaction, and pleasure and will make an effort to get it and let nothing interfere with the process. You want money, not for its own sake, but so that you can enjoy the things that money buys. You have a high appreciation of form and beautiful things, especially those which appeal to your sense of touch. You like fine clothing, and are genuinely impressed by others' appearances. You want emotional and material security. You can be intensely jealous and possessive, to the point of being ridiculous. *Sun in Gemini (May 21st—June 21st)
Gemini is the third sign of the zodiac. You are curious, communicative, versatile and talkative. You may be unreliable and evasive. Speech is especially important to you and you can be quite a chatterbox. You have a thirst for knowledge and usually have a highly developed learning capacity. Education should play a necessary part in your life from the time you are born. If your training is poor, you can make life quite unbearable for others. If you are educated, however, you tend to be charming and refined. Unless things go your way you are likely to become depressed. You are happiest when you have more than one major interest. You may experience much pleasure when your hands are busy. You must work to acquire calmness of mind and body. You dislike being bound to any particular person or place. You home, therefore, may leave much to be desired. You are fond of constant travel and changing atmospheres. Cancer is the fourth sign of the zodiac. You are a caring and nurturing individual with a strong need for family and comfort. You may be emotional and fearful. You possess highly developed protective and defensive instincts, which you aim at material and domestic security. You are extraordinarily sensitive and fearful of ridicule. You protect yourself from emotional hurt by withdrawing and finding security in solitude. You have a powerful need for home and children. You pay your debts and expect others to do the same. You are very complex, sometimes displaying the strength of a giant and at other times you display the weakness of a child. Leo is the fifth sign of the zodiac. You are good-hearted, have a sunny personality, and a strong need for attention. You have a generous nature, but can be arrogant. You are likely to give of your time, money, and knowledge, with no thought of yourself. You are strongly attracted to the opposite sex. This attraction should be held in check, or serious heartache can be the result. You are consciously drawn to the idea that "the means justify the ends." Money is important only as a means of achieving your goals. You assume that others possess a sense of integrity equal to your own, and consequently you are overly confident, frank and outspoken. These traits can cause you many interpersonal difficulties. You dislike repetition. Once you see the point, you become quite impatient and often obstinate, in discussions. *Sun in Virgo (August 23rd—September 22nd)
Virgo is the sixth sign of the zodiac. You are an analytical and critical individual. You are also practical and discriminating, and may be fussy. You are forever seeking knowledge, which will bring matter under the control of the mind. You have to learn that although the body must serve the mind, ultimately the mind must serve the spirit. You are meticulous in your work, paying a great deal of attention to detail and doing things carefully and efficiently. You can bring order out of confusion. You will go to great lengths to help a friend find employment but will seldom raise a finger to help someone who gets into difficulties because he refuses to work. You are much too practical and intelligent to allow anyone to make a martyr out of you. When the demands made on you become excessive and unreasonable, you say no, and with conviction. Virgo rules health. You must learn that wise mortals do not exhaust their physical energies by worrying, fretting, or overworking. You have a special need for companionship in order to be fulfilled. Marriage and partnerships are a primary concern for you. Sagittarius is the Ninth sign of the zodiac. You are a sunny and adventurous individual. You are optimistic and philosophical, and may tend to bluntness. You deeply love freedom, are energetic, naturally outgoing, and can achieve your goals through the power of positive thinking. Help always seems to be there for you when you need it, even if only at the eleventh hour. You are a serious thinker, concerned with the well-being of society as a whole, as well as with your own life. You are not likely to have a subtle approach to life. Capricorn is the tenth sign of the zodiac. You are responsible and respectful, with a strong need to be an authority figure. You command respect and may tend to superiority and bossiness. You may have a persistent feeling that you must develop into something. You don't let anything stand in your way of your quest for success. You have an extreme capacity for hard work linked with the notion that success means material security, and will work and plan for it. You may feel however, that the world has to give back something in return for what you have contributed. You are neat and methodical in your work and tend to be a slave driver at home. Your household, you feel, should be managed with precision, with everything in perfect working order. You desire money, and fear being dependent on others when you are old. You are old when you are young and young when you are old. As a child you may have had health problems, but once you pass the early years, you are likely to live to a ripe old age. Aquarius is the eleventh sign of the zodiac. You are unconventional, friendly, unpredictable and innovative. You like originality and may become rebellious. Friendship and companionship are extremely important to you. You have an eccentric temperament and are determined and stubborn. You sometimes feel that those who are listening to you are unreceptive and incapable of comprehending your ideas, causing you to become annoyed. You enjoy meeting new people and exchanging new ideas.
